Our 40% propolis tincture (20ml) is of beekeeping quality and contains 40% propolis. The propolis is dissolved in 80% pharmaceutical-grade drinking alcohol and bottled in an amber glass bottle.

We use raw propolis, not propolis powder, to produce our propolis tincture. We guarantee artisanal production in small batches and careful bottling.

Producing a good propolis tincture requires considerable knowledge and various techniques. For example, it’s crucial to ensure that even the water-soluble components of the propolis are dissolved. This is why we don’t use 98% alcohol for our propolis tincture, unlike many of our competitors. We’ve had the best results with 80% drinking alcohol, which dissolves both the alcohol-soluble components and the less common water-soluble ones. Before filtering, the propolis tincture mixture must stand for several weeks to months to allow the propolis to dissolve completely. We regularly shake the propolis solution during this time – it’s all done by hand! Fine filtration guarantees that no solids remain in the final tincture.

Important note for allergy sufferers : Propolis is a strong allergen and should not be used by people allergic to bee products. It is advisable to test for compatibility beforehand on a small area (e.g., in the crook of the elbow).

The main components of raw propolis include:

• 5 – 15% trace elements and minerals
• 5-10% vitamins, flavonoids and essential oils
• 30-40% wax
• 50-55% resin and balsam

Raw propolis is collected by bees from the blossoms of trees, such as willows, or from resinous oozes on trees, and mixed with their own enzymes, wax, and pollen. When making propolis tincture, the undissolved components (including most of the beeswax) are removed by finely filtering the mixture.
